Specialist Practitioner in Substance Misuse

As part of our aim to increase numbers entering treatment and reduce waiting times we are seeking a doctor with a detailed knowledge of substance misuse and a genuine empathy for the clients that we treat.

We would expect a commitment to harm minimisation and evidence based practice and an understanding as to the benefits of this practice in relation to community safety.

Ideally you should possess the Certification/Diploma in Substance Misuse at the RCGP or be willing to study towards this. There will be an opportunity to develop specialist areas of interest related to substance misuse including blood borne viruses, Hepatitis B vaccination programmes and care of pregnant drug users.

You should be a good team player who is prepared to contribute to the wider agenda of Clinical Governance Risk Management and be conversant with the National Treatment Agency Agenda.

Hours: 37 (Full time)
Salary: £65-75k per annum
