Location: London NTA Headquarters
Salary: AfC grade 8a, including Inner London weighting (£36,627 - £46,746) per annum pro rata
Hours: Part time 2-3 days per week

The National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA) is a special health authority created in 2001 with a remit to increase the availability, capacity and effectiveness of drug treatment in England.

Substance misusers across England need faster access to support. We're making sure they get it - actively increasing the availability, capacity and effectiveness of treatment. In 2003, we created a world-class Clinical Team to enhance national standards and actively promote best practice - you will work at its heart.

Working two or three days a week,you will develop policy advice and guidelines for both ourselves and the professions, initiating discussions in the Clinical team to create clear approaches to multidisciplinary issues. At the same time,you will build close relationships with the Director of Quality and senior managers at the Department of Health, drive projects to improve local clinical practice, develop national skills and deal with wide-ranging enquiries including Parliamentary Questions.

Naturally, you will be an experienced nurse with extensive experience of supporting substance misusers. This will have given you a broad understanding of the evidence base for drug treatment, awareness of current guidance and frameworks for treatment delivery and a national overview. A fluent public speaker and impressive leader, you will ideally be familiar with the development of national policy and with partnership working.
