Job title: GP
Base: Hackney DIP
Hours: Up to 5 sessions per week
Salary: To be negotiated dependent on experience

Counted4 Community Interest Company (CIC) are a Sunderland based organisation, dedicated to developing services for drug and alcohol users. We are a primary care led company, offering a range of treatment options including prescribing. We adopt a harm reduction approach to service delivery, believing that we need to engage with people using drugs and/or alcohol wherever possible.

Counted4 have recently been awarded a contract in Hackney, providing DIP prescribing and GP cover to an in-patient detoxification unit. We are committed to providing rapid access to prescribing at both services, and so require an experienced GP who is willing to work flexibly across the two sites in Hackney.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced GP to provide direct clinical input for people with drug and alcohol problems and to be involved in shaping and improving access to treatment. It is essential that the succesful candidate is committed to partnership working, and consider themselves to be part of the treatment team.

The successful applicant will need to be currently registered with the General Medical Council with no restrictions on practice and have experience of both working as a GP and in the clinical management and treatment of people with drug and alcohol problems.

The closing date for applications is Friday 12 September 2008
