Prescribing Doctor

Job title: Prescribing Doctor
Hours: 15 hours per week, 6 weeks annual leave pro rata, initially for a period of 6 months, with a possibility of becoming permanent.
Salary: £40 per hour with a contribution to MDU and GMC fees.
Telford & Wrekin Community Substance Misuse Service is jointly provided by Telford & Wrekin PCT and Telford & Wrekin Council. The service works with drug users and moderately and severely dependent drinkers.
Mathew Webb House in Dawley is an Open Access and Criminal Justice Interventions Service and Portico House in Wellington is a Structured Treatment Service. The service works in partnership with seven GP practices and twenty Community Pharmacies providing services to drug users. Inpatient services are commissioned from South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and residential rehabilitation services are purchased on an individual needs basis from a variety of voluntary and independent service providers.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Doctor to provide direct clinical input at a specialist level to people with complex drug and alcohol problems within Telford & Wrekin Community Substance Misuse Services. The post reports to the Substance Misuse Service Specialist GP.
The successful applicant will work across the Substance Misuse Services and need to be currently registered with the General Medical Council with no restrictions on practice. Whilst being GP trained is preferable it is not essential.
