South East Essex PCT (SEEPCT) is responsible for meeting the health care needs of the residents of the Southend-on-Sea, Castle Point, Rochford and Rayleigh areas. The current population is 343,000.
The Provider Arm of SEEPCT currently manages three GP led Primary Care Trust Medical Services (PCTMS) Practices across the locality and is caretaking a further two.
One of the practices, The Victoria Surgery, is a GP led Primary Care Practice, which provides a range of GMS services for its registered list of substance misuse patients. Patients receive care planning regarding their substance misuse and mental health problems, lifestyle and relationship issues as well as their general medical needs.
This surgery is also supported by a Practice Manager, CPN, RMHN Practice Nurse and dedicated administrative staff. It works closely with DAAT and other local services and the National Drug Treatment Agency.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated General Practitioner with an interest in Substance Misuse who will work with the team to continuously improve service delivery and ensure standards and governance are at the forefront of this dynamic service.
With the RCGP part 1 and 2 this post holder will be responsible for substitute prescribing in line with National guidelines and be responsible for case file auditing where appropriate.
The post holder and the team will ensure that patients receive appropriate, timely and safe standards of care through the provision of support, advice and ensure that Performance Standards (QOF) are achieved.
In the role General Practitioner, the successful applicant will work in conjunction with the PCTMS Manager and to motivate the team to provide an outstanding service ensuring the practice maintains and develops the incentives in line with the APMS contract. This will include enhanced services and any local or Government initiative. The successful applicant will be the clinical lead as well as the lead for Safeguarding children for the practice and will be the point of contact for Community Healthcare in substance misuse matters.
