Addaction has been the substantive provider of substance misuse services in West Sussex for a number of years, however we have recently won an extensive contract to substantially increase our drug and alcohol services across the county, including: GP shared care; specialist prescribing; community detoxification; open access/harm reduction; needle exchange; structured day care; criminal justice and targeted young people/family services.

We are looking to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist who is proactive about being part of a multi-disciplinary integrated community substance misuse service and to provide direct clinical input at a specialist level to clients with drug and alcohol dependence problems. There is opportunity to lead in the development of Addaction's GP and pharmacy enhanced services and to ensure that CPD activity is undertaken and contributes to maintaining good medical practice. The role will be complemented by junior specialist doctors posts for whom the Consultant will be the professional lead.

All candidates must be registered with the GMC, have MRCPsych or equivalent and be included on the GMCs Specialist Register or eligible for such inclusion.
