Addaction has been the substantive provider of substance misuse services in West Sussex for a number of years, however we have recently won an extensive contract to substantially increase our drug and alcohol services across the county, including: GP shared care; specialist prescribing; community detoxification; open access/harm reduction; needle exchange; structured day care; criminal justice and targeted young people/family services.

We are looking to appoint two Specialist Doctors who are proactive about being part of a multi-disciplinary integrated community substance misuse service and to provide direct clinical input at a prescribing level to clients with drug and alcohol dependence problems. There is opportunity to support the development of Addaction's GP shared care services by providing local RCGP master classes and to provide clinical guidance to staff working within the service. The role will be complemented by non-medical prescribers' as well qualified nurse practitioners and substance misuse project workers.

All candidates must be registered with the GMC and hold RCGP parts 1 & 2.
