RCGP SMU and SMMGP
RCGP Foundation Certificate Working Party Members

SMU and SMMGP are looking for 2-3 GPs and/or other practitioners to join the working party to develop the materials for a RCGP Foundation Certificate in Harm Reduction, Health and Wellbeing for Substance Misusers.
The certificate will:
Mirror the successful format of the Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse (Part 1) in consisting of 2 main elements (electronic learning module and nationally and locally organised face-to-face training).
Aim to support the development of competencies at basic level for generalists, as well as those who work as, or are seeking training to work in shared care.
The group will be led by Jim Jones, Clinical Lead for the programme, and meet physically 2-4 times to develop the materials to completion, with most work being done by e-mail. Expenses and a flat rate of £200 per session will be paid for meetings.
The ideal candidates should be working, or have worked in general practice, have a sound knowledge of harm reduction, in health promotion and have excellent teaching and writing skills.
