Hackney GP Prescribing Sessions

Counted4 are commissioned by Hackney DAAT to provide a discrete prescribing service for criminal justice patients within Hackney.

We are looking to develop a small team of GPs to provide substance misuse prescribing sessions within the Hackney Drug Intervention Programme (DIP) in partnership with the Westminster Drug Project (WDP). You will be involved in the assessing and initiating into treatment of drug using patients, with support from a nurse. There is opportunity to engage with the patient to address other unmet physical and mental health needs and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, under the supervision of our experienced Clinical Director.

Ideally we are looking for GPs with experience, (or wanting to develop experience) in the management of substance misuse. Ideally you should possess the RCGP1qualification to provide clinical sessions. However, Counted4 would support any interested GPs in gaining the qualification. This work is available immediately.

This is an ideal opportunity for a GP to gain experience working with substance users in a supportive environment with a limited caseload.
